People’s vote defining in Iran: Judiciary Chief

Tehran, June 18, IRNA – Iran’s Judiciary Chief who is also a presidential candidate said on Friday that the Islamic Republic is proud of the fact that people’s vote has a defining role in the governing system.

After casting his vote on Friday morning, Raisi made the remarks to reporters as a president hopeful, castigating western countries as the democracy purporters who only pretend to be respecting people’s votes.

He asked those responsible for running or supervising the voting centers to be trustworthy, urging people to vote, regardless of their gender, age, ethnicity or political views.

Asked about the promises he would make if elected, Raisi said that he would keep all the promises he made during his campaign.

Iran’s presidential election is being held nationwide as well as in 133 countries across the world.

Some 500 international journalists from 226 foreign media are covering the event in Iran.
